BIOHAZARD's SEINFELD On His Career In Porn: 'I Have Always Been Hypersexual'
June 18, 2004BIOHAZARD frontman Evan Seinfeld recently spoke to the adult video industry magazine AVN Online about his decision to turn his talents to the adult world: Performing under the nom de porn Spyder Jones, Seinfeld co-stars with his wife Tera Patrick, she of porn superstar fame, in Vivid's upcoming feature, "Tera, Tera, Tera". Several excerpts from the interview follow:
AVN Online: What made you decide to make the leap into adult films and have sex with your wife on camera?
Evan Seinfeld: I have always been an exhibitionist and hypersexual. I always fantasized about doing porn, but when I found myself completely in love with Tera, the most beautiful woman in the world in my eyes, and certainly in the history of the adult business, it was a dream come true.
AVN Online: Were you really into porn as a couple?
Evan Seinfeld: We never really talked about porn; we were too busy having fun, touring with BIOHAZARD all over Europe and the U.S., going to parties, and building our life together. My affinity for the mixture of art, acting, music, photography, and sex with Tera pointed us very organically to a big idea: our own company, TeraVision. After making so many other people rich with her incredible onscreen presence, we felt it was her turn to reap the rewards of being a porn megastar. We just finished shooting two features for TeraVision/Vivid, 'Tera, Tera, Tera' and 'Tera Patrick is... Flawless'. They were directed by Chi Chi LaRue.
AVN Online: How was it shooting your first sex scene?
Evan Seinfeld: I get so fuckin' turned on being naked and hard on film, especially with Tera.
AVN Online: Do you feel you're doing what men and rock stars everywhere just wish they could do?
Evan Seinfeld: What do you think? [laughs] I would have to say I am living out the ultimate fantasy. Many jealous people in the rock, mainstream, and adult industries will probably try to cut me down. Remember, don't hate the player, get in the game yourself. I don't think anyone with as much mainstream attention as myself has ever taken the fearless plunge into porno. In life, you have to take chances and not give a fuck what anyone thinks.
AVN Online: Do you think this will have any effect on your mainstream acting career? Do you care?
Evan Seinfeld: I think that ancient stigma about "porn can't be mainstream" is over, or at least Tera and I are about to break the mold. More people would rather watch Tera and Jenna in a mainstream fashion than any kind of boring David Letterman or Conan O'Brien. It is only a matter of time. Pretty soon you will have mainstream actors trying to get into porn to revive their careers. I'm not like Tommy Lee or Tera-like, fake-ass Paris Hilton, where we are going to try to "pretend" our movie was a leak out of our private life. We want to make super hot sex on film and we think that as long as it is real and hot and nasty, it is going to continue to keep TeraVision on top of the game. If some uptight, mainstream producer doesn't want to hire me for some movie, that is his loss. It always has and always will be important to me to think outside the box and be a leader and not a follower — just like BIOHAZARD. If anything, in our lame pop culture, the controversy surrounding me being the first rock star/actor doing porn will skyrocket my career, and it wouldn't be based on anything else but everyone else's preoccupation with sex, coupled with their own fears and insecurities. Fuck 'em all.
